One Wellshire Campaign
The One Wellshire Capital Improvement Campaign is raising funds for a Narthex expansion and a Sanctuary renovation, as well as for missions by retiring debt accrued in the purchase of additional property and donating a percentage of receipts to a mission partner.
What is the One Wellshire campaign? The One Wellshire Capital Improvement Campaign is raising funds for a Narthex expansion and a Sanctuary renovation, as well as for missions by retiring debt accrued in the purchase of additional property and donating a percentage of receipts to a mission partner.
Why are we doing this? Wellshire exists for the purpose of glorifying and enjoying God! This campaign is designed to enhance our Christian fellowship, strengthen our worship, draw us closer together as ONE congregation, and make our seeker/visitor experience more positive.
When will construction take place? Hopefully and prayerfully, construction will start in the summer or fall of 2017. This schedule is contingent upon having adequate funding in place, the availability of our contractor, and the City of Denver permitting process. You will be well informed of any delays and the reason for them should they occur.
How much will this cost? The announced financial goal of the campaign is $3,275,000. This figure is based upon what we need for the project and traditional church capital campaign calculations. If we raise more or less than this total, the scope of the campaign may be adjusted.
How can I contribute to the One Wellshire Campaign? Pledge cards to the campaign will be made available beginning Sunday, October 9, and mailed to every home the following week. All are asked to return those pledges cards to Chuck Sparks, Director of Operations. If it is more convenient, you may contact Chuck at firstname.lastname@example.org, 303-758-2233, ext. 212, or – better! – drop by the Church Office and talk to him about your commitment to the One Wellshire Campaign.
How much should I contribute? The Bible says, “To whom much is given, much is expected,” and Jesus tells us that “a widow’s mite” given piously is of great value. Wellshire has not attempted a capital campaign since 2004, and another campaign of this magnitude is not planned. To maintain our vibrancy into the 21st century, members will need to give significantly – if not sacrificially.
How long do I have to pay my pledge? We have budgeted for a three-year pledging cycle, beginning in 2017. However, due to the rapid inflation in the cost of construction, early donations are valued! If you are able to make a gift by the end of 2016, it would be kindly appreciated.
Will pledges be made public? No. Your pledge will be known only by God and those who work in the Financial Office. On the other hand, if you wish to speak with one of the pastors or a member of the One Wellshire team about the appropriate size of your gift, they are happy to do so.
Am I legally obligated to pay my pledge? No. Should you move away or your circumstances change over the course of three years, you may raise or lower your pledge at any time. The only thing that we would ask is that you notify the church. However, we do hope you consider your pledge as a sacred oath.
Is there a deadline to pledge? No! We are pleased to receive your pledge at any time. Again, please contact Chuck Sparks, Director of Operations (email@example.com).
Dear Wellshire Saints,
During our summer worship series, Create-ivity: Living Artfully, we discussed the relationship of architecture to worship and congregational life, and I introduced plans for the One Wellshire Capital Improvement Campaign. Since then, various efforts have been made to inform you about this campaign, which will expand the Narthex, remodel the Sanctuary, and extend our mission by retiring our existing debt and supporting one of our mission partners.
Now, the time is drawing near for you to decide your willingness to give to the future of Wellshire and your willingness to support the project which our leaders believe is crucial for our future together.
Beginning Sunday, pledge cards will be made available. Next week, pledge cards will be mailed to each home. We prayerfully request your response via these cards. If you prefer, you may email Director of Operations Chuck Sparks at firstname.lastname@example.org, call him at 303-758-2233, ext. 212, or drop in the Church Office and talk to him about your commitment to the One Wellshire Campaign.
It may inspire you to know that, in the few weeks since we announced the drive, we already have approximately $1.3 million in commitments from a small number of folks – and we are just beginning!
How much should you give? The Bible says, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” And Jesus tells us that “a widow’s mite” given piously is of great value. Wellshire has not done a capital campaign since 2004, and another campaign of this magnitude is not planned. To maintain our vibrancy into the 21st century, members will need to give significantly – if not sacrificially.
Please contact me if you have any questions at email@example.com or 303-758-2233, ext. 215.

Dear friends at Wellshire,
I hope you received and read John’s letter last week that described our One Wellshire Capital Improvement Campaign objectives. The efforts around this campaign will lead to an expanded Narthex, a remodeled Sanctuary, and an extension of our mission and ministry by retiring our existing debt and supporting one of our mission partners.
Your generosity can and will make a difference for the One Wellshire campaign. Enclosed is a pledge card that covers the next three years (2017-2019). Your pledge and subsequent giving are the primary source of funding to accomplish all of the goals of this campaign.
Please prayerfully consider the possibilities for yourself and those you love as you joyfully participate in helping to fund the One Wellshire campaign. We are please to receive your response at any time. Please be generous. You can send your card to me, place it in the offering plate on any Sunday, or communicate with me via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or a phone call. My extension is 212.
If you have any questions about the campaign, I can put you in touch with a leader of this lay-led initiative.
As a community of Christian believers, we share a faith that God cares for our needs and that we are each unconditionally loved. It is through the ministries of Wellshire that our lives and the lives of those around us are changed as we faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Personal involvement and commitment, along with financial support, make substantial differences in all of our lives as we remain thankful, energized, and hopeful for what the future brings to the Wellshire community and the communities we serve.
On behalf of the One Wellshire Committee,
