Wil Smith is a gifted organist and composer who uses his talents to glorify God and inspire others. He has served as Associate Director of Music & Organist at Wellshire since 2021, where he leads a dynamic choir and plays keyboards with the band for the 9:00 am service. He also plays the grand Casavant organ for the 11:00 am service, creating an atmosphere of reverence and worship. In addition, he guides the youth in an evening worship service that’s both uplifting and meaningful. Wil holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University and a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. He is active as a performer, collaborating with various orchestras, ensembles, and soloists, and has played with the Colorado Symphony, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Denver Philharmonic, and the Denver Pops. As a composer, he has collaborated with David Gambrell on a new hymn commissioned by the Presbyterian Mission Association and with David LaMotte on a new hymn and choral arrangement commissioned by the North Carolina Council of Churches. Wil also works two days per week at Wellshire’s mission partner, Metro Caring food bank, where he supports newly arrived refugees and other marginalized groups, work that continually inspires and enriches his faith. Wil lives in downtown Denver with his partner, Bryce, and their 2 rescue pups, Carla and Heather, and enjoys hiking in the mountains, hoppy beer, and traveling to beautiful places.
