We Belong to God

ADVANCE CARE PLANNING SEMINAR
Saturday, November 3 | 10:00 am to noon

We are mortal, end of life planning is a profound gift and guide to those who remain to make decisions in the midst of grief.

This two part series will include an interactive story-driven seminar on Advanced Directives by Dr. John Lobitz of Tomorrow’s Choices on Saturday, November 3 from 10:00 am to noon. Participants will leave with all the tools needed to complete medical Advanced Directives and may return two weeks later for a “signing party” to complete documents on Saturday, November 17 at 3:00 pm. In addition, Rev. Katie Robb Davis will offer guidance and worksheets on memorial service planning on the 17th.

RSVPs to Kris are helpful but not required.

Great Dates ~ Date Night April 28

Great Dates

Great Dates LogoFourth Fridays | 6:00-9:00 pm

LAST ONE! April 28

Date night at Wellshire!

Calling all married, engaged, or thinking-about-marriage couples: come at 6:00 pm to the Chapel for a 15-minute presentation by one of our pastors on some facet of marriage (communication, valuing differences, managing money, developing shared dreams, intimacy). Then, go out on a date anywhere you choose to go (Starbucks, Elways, McDonalds, a walk in the park). During the date, your conversation will be focused on the presented topic of the evening. Worksheets will be provided to facilitate or guide the conversation. And the best part? Leave the children with us!

Childcare is provided; let us know your childcare need at childcare@wpcdenver.org. All we ask is that you come back to the church and pick them up by 9:00 pm!

ALL MARRIED COUPLES – church members, non-church members, Christians and non-Christians, gay or straight – are welcome – and those who are engaged or thinking about getting married will benefit from this course.

Leaders: The Revs. John H. Bell, Jr.; Kira Anderson; and Katie Robb Davis

The topic for April will be “communication,” and this is to be a DOUBLE DATE! You are encouraged to invite another couple to come with you and go out to dinner together. Please gather in the Chapel for a short introduction (15 min.) to the topic of the importance of communication in relationships, a work sheet and tip sheet on the subject will be handed out, and then go out on a double date!

Jubilee Weekend 2016 logoJubilee Weekend 2016 means a return to our Fall programming plus special events!

Friday, September 9: A Day of Service

Jubilee Weekend at Wellshire kicks off with a Day of Service on Friday, September 9.

Lend a hand to beautify the building and serve the community — pizza party at 5:30 pm, then family-friendly work projects until 8:00 pm. The Youth Suite needs a fresh coat of paint, the grounds need sprucing up, and we’ll do some work for Metro Caring, too! Sign up via the link in the eNews or on the clipboard in the Narthex. Contact Rev. Katie Robb Davis at krobbdavis@wpcdenver.org with questions.

Saturday, September 10: A Day of Scenery

Jubilee Weekend continues at Wellshire with a Day of Scenery on Saturday, September 10.

This year’s Day of Scenery will take the form of a hike in beautiful Grizzly Gulch. The hike is a six mile round trip with 1000 ft. elevation gain.  The hike can be shortened to 2.8 miles with an elevation gain of 430 ft by stopping in a clearing with a rail fence that is just before a stream crossing.  We will eat lunch in this clearing.  (Those going on the six mile hike will stop for lunch on the way back down after hiking about 4.6 miles.) The trail is not steep and the pace will be casual. For more details, click here.

Sunday, September 11: A Day of Song

Living Water Contemporary Worship at 9:00 am in the Chapel and Traditional Worship at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary both resume, as do educational options for all ages at 9:55 am.
